NOYU checks your connected sources through the day and updates your health picture as new data arrives. The timing depends on when your wearable sends and processes each measurement.
New wearable data
Once a measurement is visible in your wearable's own app, it will usually appear in NOYU within a few minutes.
Some data arrives later:
- Sleep may still be processing shortly after you wake up
- Activities may not arrive until your watch has synced with its app
- Heart rate and recovery metrics can change after the first version of a night's data lands
If something is still missing after your provider shows it, see My wearable isn't syncing.
Your first sync
When you connect a wearable, NOYU starts with recent data and then pulls in up to a year of history where it is available. Recent days usually appear first, while older history fills in gradually.
You do not need to keep the app open. You can carry on using NOYU while the initial sync runs in the background.
Daily scores
Your morning sleep score and Readiness are based on the night that ended that morning. They update when the relevant overnight data arrives.
Strain is different: it can rise during the day as new activity and training data comes in.
NOYU compares most metrics with your own recent baseline. Those comparisons need several prior days before they tell you much, and they get stronger again after a few weeks of consistent data.
Which date does a night belong to?
NOYU follows the Apple Health convention:
- Sleep duration and wake-related measurements belong to the date you woke up
- Bedtime belongs to the date you went to bed
So a sleep that starts on Tuesday evening and ends on Wednesday morning contributes its duration to Wednesday.
