NOYU is not only there when you open it. It reaches out when there is something worth saying, and everything it sends lands in the same conversation as your own questions. There is no separate inbox to check.
What arrives unprompted
Updates are short and fire when something happens in your data. Last night's sleep syncing is the common one, and you will usually get a couple of sentences on the night you just had. A workout syncing can prompt one. So can a quiet spell where data is flowing but NOYU has not said anything for a day.
These are triggered by data arriving, not by the clock. NOYU used to post a morning summary at a fixed time whether or not anything had synced, so it often said nothing useful at 7:37am. Now it waits until it has something real.
Insights are what NOYU has noticed across your data, and they are the ones worth reading properly. They tend to be cross-source, which is where the interesting material is: something in your late meals showing up in your sleep, or your recovery tracking your meeting load.
Reports are periodic write-ups. These post a card in the chat that opens the full document, rather than dumping several pages into the conversation.
Actions you scheduled yourself. See Actions.
Experiment reminders and results if you have one running.
Everything is in one conversation
Your questions and everything NOYU sends share a single, continuous chat. A morning update, your reply to it and a question you ask three days later all sit in one thread, in order.
This is deliberate. Splitting proactive messages into their own inbox means every reply starts a conversation with no context, and you end up explaining yourself to something that already knows.
For longer artefacts like reports, the chat shows a card and the document lives at its own address, so it stays findable and shareable instead of being lost in the scroll.
Finding something again
Since there is one long conversation, scrolling back stops working quickly. Search is the way to find things: it covers both past conversation and saved artefacts like reports and logged meals, and you can filter by type.
Turning the volume down
Every kind of update can be silenced individually in Settings → Personalisation.
One thing to know: silencing an update turns off the notification, not the message. It will still be in your chat when you next look. You stop being interrupted, without NOYU going quiet about your data.
What NOYU will not do with a number
There are hard rules on what NOYU can say when it reaches out.
Every figure in a message has to come from your actual data. If last night's sleep has not synced, NOYU says so plainly rather than reaching for the most recent night it has. It will not present a multi-day average as if it were one night.
If you ever see a number you cannot account for, tell us. That is a bug and we treat it as one.
